John Sencio is an American
television host, producer, and journalist, as well as a former MTV VJ. Mr.
Sencio is also a 2-time cancer survivor and Motivational speaker. He currently
resides in Los Angeles and New York, according to his official website.
John Sencio grew up in Holliston, Massachusetts. Prior to working in
television he was a counselor for young people with emotional and behavioral
disorders. Sencio is a graduate of Emerson College, where he studied television,
film, and radio.
He was a popular VJ for four years during the mid-1990s. He hosted a
number of shows on MTV including Rude Awakening, which aired music videos from 6
am to 7 am. He was known for writing and producing his own skits and interviewed
a number of celebrities, from music artists to movie stars such as Mel Gibson
and Halle Berry.
Although he remained under contract to Viacom (MTV's Parent Company)
until 1998, John Sencio was released in April 1997 as part of a shake up at MTV.
The dramatic shake up occurred when MTV tried to refocus more on music instead
of VJs and game shows. Most other VJs that were on the channel at the time were
also released.
John Sencio had a lower profile on television for a period after leaving
MTV. During this time he did star in a short lived sitcom for Warner Brothers.
He also had hosting stints on Simplify Your Life for the Fine Living Network, 48
Hour Wedding for PAX television network, and Movie Buzz for the Fox
Entertainment Group. According to IMDB, Sencio had bit parts in motion pictures
as well. It is implied on his official website that this phase was a result of
focusing on personal projects ranging from independent film to music.
John Sencio is cancer survivor. According to The Cancer Survivors
Network,[it
was during this early phase of his career that Sencio underwent chemotherapy and
radiation therapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was treated at NYU Medical Center,[in
New York City. On the American Cancer Society website site Sencio is described
as having a “miraculous” recovery.
Mr. Sencio returned to higher profile roles on television in the
mid-2000s.
In 2004 and 2005, he was an anchor and reporter for a nationally
syndicated reality show, produced by NBC, called Home Delivery. This program was
a blend of Daytime Talk, Broadcast Journalism, and making dreams come true. Home
Delivery was re-launched in 2009 on the ION Network. According to an article on
Wellness.com John Sencio began motivational speaking in Los Angeles following
Home Delivery.
In 2006, along with his current series, Mr. Sencio hosted and produced
numerous television specials as well as guest anchored the national news program
The Daily Buzz.
Sencio currently hosts a show on Home & Garden Television (HGTV) called
Cash in the Attic. The show is modeled on the BBC show of the same name. On the
reality show, homeowners try to sell old or unused items in their home at
auction. Sometimes the items sell for more than the estimate, sometimes less.
This American version of Cash in The Attic premiered in the fall of 2005 and to
date, according to
IMDB, Sencio has hosted and produced 65 episodes.
According to NBC Universal's Home Delivery website, Sencio is married and
has children.
John Sencio revealed on his website that he was diagnosed with stage-4
“head & neck” cancer in 2012. After 6 months of aggressive surgery,
chemotherapy, and radiation he was pronounced “cancer free” in 2013.
In 2013 Mr. Sencio resumed broadcasting, beginning with guest hosting
stints on KFI am 640 Los Angeles. As of 2012 KFI was the highest rated talk
radio station in the United States.

Escape From L.A. Surgery Victim Mask

Surgery Victim Mask (Rick Baker Auction - Lot 160)
Description (Prop Store):
A mask for a surgery victim from John Carpenter’s sci-fi adventure
Escape from LA. This piece was created for use by a background actor in the
Surgeon General of Beverly Hills’ (Bruce Campbell) lair. The slip latex mask is
painted in great detail to appear as though skin from two victims had been
crudely stitched together. The piece features hand-punched hair throughout and
small black string tied to approximate stitches. A tear runs up the back of the
neck to allow for easy dressing and removing. This mask is offered on a wood and
metal base and remains in good condition. Dimensions on base: 10” x 10” x 18”
(25 cm x 25 cm x 46 cm).
On May 29, Prop Store held an auction
called "Rick Baker: Monster Maker" where 417 items from over 50 productions were
auctioned from the Rick Baker archive. This item was one of them. It's really
sad to see Rick retire but I guess the movie industry isn't interested in
quality these days.

Exclusive Interview with Jeff Sillifant!
(Uncredited Prisoners: Escape From New York)
Jeff Sillifant ended up playing three different
prisoners in the movie, including one of the Crazies! Despite this he's still
unlisted in IMDb so it's my great pleasure to give Jeff and his late friends
Mark
Groseclose and Eric Caidin
(who also played prisoners) the
recognition they deserve. Ironically, Jeff was interviewed for The John
Carpenter File!
#10,
an issue that unfortunately was never released. Better late than never, Jeff.
Kudos to Mark Neilson who sent a page from The John Carpenter File!
#9
about this information.
Aside from all the wonderful stories, Jeff also provided me with 9 fantastic
behind the scenes photos, some which he got to select from Still Photographer
Kim Gottlieb-Walker at the time. 8 of them are previously unseen as far as I'm
concerned!
He has also provided me with information about deleted material from his scenes!
I'm currently working on the Deleted Scenes page and I will notify you when I'm
done.
This is another wonderful experience this site has been fortunate to have this
year. Thank you so much, Jeff!

From New York? This and many other things are answered in this interview.
Getting to know Alan and more about Low Moan Spectacular has been a wonderful
experience. This guy has even directed his show Footlight Frenzy in a

Exclusive Interview with John C. Wash!
(Graphic Displays/Uncredited Model Builder: Escape From New York)

John Wash's visual creativity has always been a force in shaping his
career. Wash's passion for the magic of cinema began at the age of eight, when
he opened a Christmas package that held a battery-powered movie projector. The
single eight millimeter film that accompanied the projector was quickly worn to
shreds by the young projectionist. While still in high school, Wash worked as
cinematographer on two independent films.
His passion for movie making brought him to the University of Southern
California's School of Cinema/Television. Here Wash excelled at creating cel and
back-lit effects animation on film. Wash's animation work was screened at the
inaugural Los Angeles Film Festival, and won awards in international
competition. While still at USC, John created animated graphics and visual
effects for John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon's cult classic, Dark Star.
After graduating, Wash was approached by a fellow USC graduate, George
Lucas, to design and produce graphic animation for a science fiction project he
was working on. During the production of Star Wars, John utilized
computer generated imagery for the first time, using the Scanimate analog
computer to produce an animated display of the Death Star. In 1979, John
established his company, Motion Graphics, which designed and produced graphic
animation for The Thing, Escape From New York, Cloak & Dagger,
Halloween III and numerous TV commercials.
In 1981, while working at Entertainment Effects Group (EEG), Wash
supervised animation and computer graphics on Ridley Scott's Sci-Fi classic,
Blade Runner. His stint at EEG included visual effects supervision on the
Clio winning spot for Chanel, "Share the Fantasy", directed by Ridley Scott. In
1983, after finishing visual effects work on Brainstorm, Wash, along with
EEG co-workers Richard Hollander, Greg McMurry and Rhonda Gunner formed a new
company, Video Image Associates, specializing in computer animation and 24-frame
video displays. Their first project was Peter Hyams's 2010. Wash oversaw
design and production of screen graphics for such features as Timecop,
Clear & Present Danger, Crimson Tide, and the roll-out commercial for
AT&T's Truevoice service.
Wash and his partners foresaw the use of computer generated imagery as
the future of visual effects production. As a result, they developed the
hardware and expanded their services to include a state-of-the-art CGI
department, that became known as VIFX.
From 1997 through 1999, John has worked as Managing Director and Senior
Visual Effects Supervisor at Blue Sky|VIFX. He has supervised visual effects
work on films including X-Files: Fight the Future, Volcano, One
Fine Day, From Dusk Till Dawn, Switchback, Patriot Games,
Free Willy, Demolition Man and Clear & Present Danger. With
the acquisition of VIFX by Rhythm & Hues in 1999, John has returned to
independent work as a freelance visual effects supervisor, combining feature
work and supervision on the last two seasons of The X-Files television
series.
As part of the development of the visual effects industry, Wash has been
active in education and the development of new talent. He has conducted
presentations and seminars for organizations that include Siggraph, Imagina, AFI,
and USC's Film and Television Department. Wash is also a member of the Visual
Effects Society and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

John C. Wash
John C. Wash is the man responsible for all the timeless and iconic graphic
displays in Escape From New York and together with Mark Stetson they
built several models to achieve the wireframe POV effects as the glider flew
into Manhattan etc. Since Stetson agreed to do an interview I just had to
contact Mr. Wash and see if he also was interested and he was! It gives me great
pleasure to give these guys the spotlight they truly deserve knowing the amount
of work that went into making these effects. Thank you so much, John for this
very insightful and informative interview!

Exclusive Interview with Tony Giglio! (Production Assistant: Escape From
L.A.)

Tony Giglio is one of Hollywood's most
versatile writer-directors with projects ranging from horror to action, drama,
thriller and 3-D!
Tony Giglio is proud to have written, produced & directed Sony
Entertainment's first ever made for New Media Feature Film entitled
Extraction. The film stars Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon series),
Vinnie Jones (Snatch), Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings series), Falk
Hentschel (Knight and Day), and Jon Foo (Tekken). Extraction
is the most watched original-scripted program in Sony's New Media History.
Previously, Giglio directed 2nd Unit on Resident Evil: Afterlife
in 3-D for Screen Gems/Constantin/Impact Pictures. The film uses the same 3-D
system that Jim Cameron's Avatar used. The film opened #1 in the
worldwide box office on September 10, 2010 to a franchise record $73 million.
Universal Pictures and Impact Pictures hired Giglio to pen Death Race
2, a prequel to 2008's Death Race. Giglio wrote the script while
simultaneously directing 2nd Unit on Afterlife. Based on Death Race 2's
overwhelming success, Universal moved quickly to make its sequel, Death Race:
Inferno. Giglio wrote the screenplay, which he described as "a prequel to
the original which was a remake, but a sequel to the first prequel".
In 2007, Giglio directed Timber Falls. The horror-dark comedy
stars Brianna Brown (TV's Devious Maids, Homeland, Entourage).
Shot in Romania doubling for West Virginia, Giglio was able to find locations
never before filmed in the mountains of Transylvania. The film opened
theatrically on December 7, 2007 to extremely positive reviews.
In 2005, Giglio wrote and directed the action-thriller Chaos,
starring Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe and Wesley Snipes.
In 2004, Giglio co-wrote and directed the World War Two drama entitled in
Enemy Hands, starring Academy Award Nominated Actor William H. Macy, Til
Schweiger, Clark Gregg, Scott Caan, Thomas Kretschmann, Lauren Holly, Ian
Somerhalder and Jeremy Sisto. The film was released by Lion's Gate in the U.S.
in 2004. Some obscure trivia, Academy Award-winning Director Gavin Hood was one
of Giglio's Cast members.
Giglio's first job in film was as a Production Assistant on the The Quick &
The Dead. Giglio, a huge fan of The Evil Dead, wrote director Sam
Raimi a letter prior to graduating college seeking employment with him. Much to
his surprise, Raimi answered his letter and said, "if he (Giglio) decided to
relocate to LA, to look him up." Giglio moved to California shortly after
graduation, reconnected with Raimi's office just as Raimi had signed on to
direct The Quick & the Dead. Giglio started as an office P.A., but later
served as a Set P.A.. Location P.A. and Sam Raimi's P.A. on the production in
Arizona.
Giglio gained experience working in the entertainment industry on such
high-profile film projects as, Heat, Terminator 2: 3D, Liar,
Liar, Celtic Pride, Bulletproof, Fear, Dante's Peak,
Escape From L.A., The Rock, Kicking & Screaming And
Jingle All The Way.
Tony graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
1993. He is a proud member of the DGA, WGA, DGC & SAG. He holds citizenship in
good standing status with both the United States and Canada. When not on
location directing, Tony Giglio resides in Southern California with his wife and
dog.

Falls and writer of Death Race 2 and Death Race: Inferno which

questions about his experience working on the movie and he was! Thank you so
much, Tony! By the way, Death Race 4

The John Carpenter File! 5 is finally in my possession and despite not bringing
anything really new to the table and inaccurate information regarding some
shooting locations it's a pleasure to finally be able to preserve it on the
site! I was
fortunate to win it again on eBay recently in a package that included issues 7-8
as well for a reasonable price and I received this magazine this time! To my
surprise, those included a continuous fan fiction story called Escape From
Los Angeles. The third part is available in The John Carpenter File! 9 and
if anyone wants to provide or sell me this magazine or scan part 3 please let me
know. At least I can try. However, since this was the last The John Carpenter
File! issue to be released it's uncertain if
this was the last part of the story.

Escape From L.A. Carson Landfill shooting
location located!
>
1996 - Now
Sunset Boulevard/Beverly Hills Hotel (Exteriors)/Santa
Monica Freeway (Former
Cal Compact Landfill, Carson, Los Angeles, CA) (Street
View)
Description:
The Avalon of South Bay (ASB) site
encompasses 168 acres on two parcels, the 157 acre former Cal Compact Landfill
parcel and an adjacent 11-acre, non-landfill parcel.
DTSC is the lead
regulatory agency for the brownfield restoration project for the 157 acre former
Cal Compact Landfill parcel. The former Cal Compact Landfill consists of five
separate landfill cells numbered A1 through A5 separated by the site
boundaries on the outer
perimeter and on the interior by two roadways (Former Leonardo and Stamps
Drives), a Los Angeles County flood control channel (Torrance Lateral) is
located adjacent to the south and west sides of the project site and serves to
separate the project site from the adjacent uses. Because the property was
previously a landfill site, elevated levels of chemicals of concern were found
in the landfill and groundwater. While there is no immediate health risk because
the public is not exposed to the landfill waste or groundwater, a restoration
plan will ensure that future site occupants and users are not exposed.
Since 1988, DTSC has conducted several investigations of the former Cal Compact
Landfill property. Due to the size and complexity of the site, the property was
divided into two "operable units" (OUs). In 1995, a Remediation Action Plan
(RAP) was completed and approved by DTSC for the upper OU. In 2005, a RAP was
completed and approved by DTSC for the lower OU. Investigations conducted in the
Upper OU showed presence of landfill gasses such as methane, carbon dioxide and
volatile organic compounds, as well as metals in the Upper OU. Investigations
conducted in the Lower OU have not resulted in any active requirement for
remediation besides monitoring. Each of the RAP's summarizes how their
mitigation measures are being used to prevent future exposure to landfill waste.
Its story is a tangled, four-decade tale
of polluted air and poisoned groundwater and failed plans for shopping malls,
mobile home parks. And bankruptcies, lawsuits and criminal cases that include a
fraud prosecution of a former labor union pension administrator.
It is the largest undeveloped single piece of freeway-adjacent land in
Los Angeles County.
There has also been plans to build a Stadium at the former landfill for many years that
would house both the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raider's NFL football
teams.
Comment (Andreas): "The Sunset Boulevard scenes were shot at the former Leonardo
road located almost in the middle of the landfill seen in the picture above.
Beverly Hills Hotel (Exteriors) and Santa Monica Freeway scenes were probably shot
at the other road called Stamps Drives available at the landfill located to the
left."
Trivia: Kurt Russell recalls the Sunset Boulevard chase sequence as
one of the toughest things for him to do in the movie. It took 4 nights to shoot and he had to put out every
time when leaping over car to car so he would not fall and get run over
which was close at times.
According to himself he did this probably 50 or 60 times every night.
Trivia:
Lawrence G. Paull (Production Designer) used 29,000 lbs. of rubble to create
Sunset Boulevard
and strategically blocked the L.A. skyline with it.
A mile-long strip of scrap-metal shacks and crumpled buildings was created here.
Trivia: The Santa Monica Freeway scenes were shot in another part of the landfill
in Carson where over 200 trashed vehicles were brought in from an auto
demolition yard and dumped in a jumbled maze.

This site has a special thanks note in this
magazine. The chief editor Markus Haage notified me about this recently and
provided me with this magazine as well. As long as this site is mentioned I have
no problem with people exploiting it to some degree. This is a fan operated site
after all and I'm a servant to these movies. It's an honor to be mentioned and
contributing as well. Furthermore, this is a nicely put together retrospective
and I especially enjoyed the article about the urban decay and other realities
that inspired the movie. Too bad It's all in German. Great stuff though and
thanks for including a couple of pages about Escape From L.A. I
appreciate that.
04/07-15:
Exclusive Interview with Paul Chadwick! (Poster Artist: Escape From New
York)
Paul Chadwick (b.1957) has worked widely
as an artist and writer for comic books, with collaborators like Ron Randall,
Doug Wheatley, Alan Moore, John Bolton, Harlan Ellison, Jan Strnad, Randy
Stradley, Archie Goodwin, Brian K. Vaughan, and others.
He's most noted for his award-winning series Concrete, about a thoughtful
man stuck in a brutish, rock-coated body. Born in Seattle, he grew up in its
lakeside suburb Medina, then a haven for Boeing engineers and their families,
now the site of palaces for Bill Gates and his ilk. His father Stephen F.
Chadwick was City Attorney for the small hamlet.
As a teen, he joined Apa-5, the amateur press alliance of comics fans
which also provided a creative outlet for future comics luminaries like Frank
Miller, Mike Richardson, Randy Stradley, Chris Warner, Randy Emberlin, and
others.
He attended Art Center College of Design, majoring in illustration.
Around this time Chadwick lived in a courtyard apartment building, The Golden
Palm, which teemed with talent. Bryn Barnard, Ron Harris, David Mattingly, James
Gurney, Thomas Kinkade, Kurt Cyrus, Mark Verheiden, Andy Su, Terry Robinson all
lived there, five of them as Chadwick's roommate (at different times).
Chadwick graduated in 1979, and began storyboarding movies for Disney,
Warner Brothers, Lucasfilm and others. Credits include Pee Wee's Big
Adventure, Strange Brew, The Big Easy and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.
Chadwick says the auteurs behind two small films he worked on, Lies
(Jim & Ken Wheat) and Miracle Mile (Steve DeJarnatt) were the greatest
personal influences on his writing.
Chadwick also freelanced illustration, mainly for movie advertising (Streamers
and Galaxy of Terror were the only finished posters among the dozens of
preliminary paintings he did) and for SF and Fantasy paperbacks.
Chadwick decided to devote himself to comics, but Concrete
didn't sell at first. Chadwick's first comic in print was The Life of St.
Norbert, published by an order of Norbertine monks. Going from the sacred
to the (mildly) profane, he next drew Steve Perry's strange and silly
Salimba, about a jungle girl fighting "wormboys" and a giant three-headed
were-dog.
A year on Marvel's Dazzler completed Chadwick's apprentice
years, and he sold Concrete in 1985 to Dark Horse comics. It has
appeared intermittently ever since.
A Concrete movie has been in development for years. Chadwick has written
several screenplays for it, first in collaboration with Larry Wilson, then solo.
Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh wrote one, as well, which briefly won a green light
for the film.
The decision was reversed upon the release of the surprise hit The
Blair Witch Project, which caused the sudden mass delusion that Hollywood
could dispense with costly visual effects and stars. The fever passed, but
Concrete's window had closed, at least until somebody with the clout or energy
decides to brave the thousand demons that lay waiting to kill every movie.
Chadwick wrote and drew (inks by Ron Randall) eight issues of The
World Below, about a network of vast, mysteriously lit caverns beneath
northern Washington State, and the strange beings and technology to be found
there. Dark Horse plans to reissue the series as a collection.
The Human Dilemma, the newest Concrete series, won an Eisner
Award (best cartoonist) and a Reuben Award (best in comic books division) from
the National Cartoonist Society.
Chadwick is currently drawing a miniseries for DC, Seven Against
Chaos, written by Harlan Ellison.
He's also working on a (non-Concrete, TBA) graphic novel for Dark Horse,
as well as a new Concrete miniseries.

Exclusive Interview with Richard Hescox! (Promotional
Artist: Escape From New York)
Richard Hescox is
one of the founding lights of the Imaginative Realism movement, first turning in
that direction, and creating personal, Fine Art works in a fantastical vein, in
1992. Since then he has painted many, highly sought after, images which have
attracted collector and publishers as well as having inspired many followers in
the movement. His break from commissioned illustrations has allowed him to
paint pictures that flow out of a deep place in his psyche that seeks for
beauty, mystery and the romance of a world long forgotten.
Working without the
constraints of art directors, deadlines or client specifications, he has
produced a stunning body of paintings. These works harken back to the great
artistic traditions of the past and are infused with the wonder of an era of
myth, exotic culture and mystical yearnings.
His Fine Art paintings, as well as his earlier
illustration work, now hang in many established collections throughout the
world. His Imaginative Realism work has been shown in a number of American art
museums, including exhibits at: The Delaware Art Museum, the Canton Museum of
Art and the Allentown Art Museum as well as at the Society of Illustrators in
New York.
During his career as an illustrator Richard
contributed artwork to such projects as the films E.T. and The Dark
Crystal, to computer games, record albums and magazine illustrations. He has
also providing covers and interior illustrations for hundreds of books including
being personally selected by the author, George R. R. Martin to create over 70
paintings and ink drawings for the Subterranean Press limited edition of his
book “A Clash of Kings” from the bestselling “A Game of Thrones” series.
A Comprehensive book on Richard Hescox’s work:
“The
Deceiving Eye, The Art of Richard Hescox”
has been published by Paper Tiger Press.

The promotional pre-production art of Escape From New York has always

Comment

I finally came around reading this one today. There's not much I can add
from my previous comments. Again, the artwork prevents it to be taken seriously
and it also has too many cheesy moments. Snake also has too much dialogue. It
doesn't have any of the elements that made Escape From New York so good.
It should've been more like Frank Miller's or Alan Moore's work.
I enjoyed Snake throwing out a woman and a man which had been given to him
as a reward though.

EFLA Concept Art

I emailed Fireball Tim (Concept Artist of Escape From L.A.
etc) today and within an hour I received a ZIP file with plenty of previously
unseen concept art featuring alternate designs etc. I especially enjoyed seeing Cuervo Jones Monster Truck Cadillac as mentioned in the script and shown in the
storyboards in its full glory.
Here they are: Concept Art

DVD Covers

I decided to order the first UK DVD release of
Escape From New York since it has my favorite cover of all the DVD
releases. It's the one that is less altered and closest to the movie poster.
If you happen to have DVDs or VHS for that matter not listed in my DVD or VHS
pages or can provide me with better pictures with both the front and backside
visible, please email me:

Sideshow Collectibles Snake Plissken Figure
Out Now!

Sideshow Collectibles (US) - Snake Plissken Sixth Scale Action Figure (Officially
Licensed)
Description:
"Call me Snake"
Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Snake Plissken Sixth Scale Figure,
leading anti-hero of the 80's cult classic Escape from New York.
Chock full o' attitude, we've brought the all-American escape artist to life
with a highly detailed likeness of Snake, as portrayed by actor Kurt Russell.
Sporting his full abdomen cobra tattoo, Plissken is decked out in his trademark
duds, including eyepatch, muscle shirt, distressed leather jacket, urban camo
pants, catcher's shin guards and combat boots.
Ready to take on the Duke, we've armed the one-eyed warrior with a complete
arsenal of modified firepower. Holstered at his side is the USPF-issued
sub-machine gun with detachable silencer, scope and spare mags, his sidearm
revolver with scope, and an array of throwing stars. Cigarette in one hand,
Snake is fully equipped with a radio and homing device - and just so there's no
funny business, he's shackled up with wrist time-clock and tracker.
To complete the mission, the Sideshow Exclusive Edition will include an
additional accessory - the cassette tape containing the President's top secret
nuclear fusion information.
The Snake Plissken Sixth Scale Figure is an ultimate tribute to the 80s cult
classic legend, and must-have for fans of John Carpenter's 'Escape' saga!

Here's another item to prolong your childhood.
The eye and jacket needed more work and it has somewhat of a cartoonish look but
I think this is the closest and best we'll ever get to an officially sixth scale
figure of Snake. The awesome art on the backside and inside the box is made by
Fabian "Monk" Schlaga and deserves a poster by the way. Check it out
here.

It's been a long wait for a new John Carpenter album but it was worth the
wait. The whole album sounds great but Vortex, Fallen, Abyss,
Wraith and Night are my favorites. I urge you to purchase this
album. He and his son Cody are currently working on a dark blues album and I'd
want to see it be released as well.
We have missed your music, John.

BOOM! Studios Escape From New York #2 Comment
Why do the makers of this comic book call this
Escape From New York when it's more a nod to Escape From L.A. Even
the theme about freedom in this comic book resonates more with EFLA which
already dealt with this theme. The art in this comic book also prevents it to be
taken seriously. Seeing Snake knock out an alligator with his boot also doesn't
help for instance. I don't have that much else to say about this issue. It's
entertaining but as an Escape From New York comic book it fails on so
many levels.

I was expecting nothing but this was a very
pleasant surprise. This would be a really good Escape From Earth teaser.
It's simple, atmospheric, well made and the voice-over works very well. Good
choice of music and story as well.
Thanks,
Jean Philippe Goudroye (Snake Plissken) for
notifying me about this fan film teaser.

New Sideshow Collectibles Snake Plissken photos and release date

Check out the new gallery
here. This figure is currently expected to ship January - February.
This figure looks great underlit but up-close in light you can clearly see that
his eye is far from perfect. The jacket should be more weathered as well. To
buy, or not to buy, that is the question.

Scream Factory's Escape From New York Blu-ray Release News

Scream Factory:
**BREAKING: ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK Release
News**
We have some “A-number one” updates to report today regarding our
upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Collector’s Edition of John Carpenter’s
legendary film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK:
- Here’s an ...exclusive
first look at the official newly-commissioned artwork which comes courtesy to us
from artist Paul Shipper (Halloween: The Complete Collection). Snake is
centrally focused of course, but we felt that it was important to showcase the
incredible ensemble cast who are all vitally important to the film too. Purists
can rejoice: The iconic original poster art with the beheaded Statue of Liberty
will be on the reverse wrap and we wouldn’t dream of not including it!
- Extras (new &
existing) are still in progress and will be announced in full details sometime
in Feb. This is a 2-disc blu-ray set and will exceed the previous DVD special
edition.
- Last and not least (and which will be
good news to fans hoping this would happen): We have created a brand new 2K High
Definition scan of the inter-positive, struck from the original negative.
- This is a Region A release. Street date
is 4/21. You can pre-order the release directly from us, Amazon and other fine
online retailer. Pre-order links should be going up soon in the upcoming months.
Note: If you do order from us on ours site, you’ll receive it two weeks earlier
than the national street date and receive an 18” x 24” poster of the new art.
