Some Hollywood types came to Detroit last summer looking for decay, but only found disappointment. The movie men, who were scouting sites for the current release Escape From New York opted for St. Louis instead. A Detroit city spokeswoman, who chauffeured the visitors to various neighborhoods, explains: "We had nothing decrepit enough. They couldn't find any buildings where the bricks were half off."
