'Escape' Hollywood Style [Granite City Press-Record/Aug 24/1980/US]


The old Chain of Rocks Bridge, owned by the city of Madison, is brightly illuminated last week during the filming of Escape From New York by Slam Dunk Productions, a subsidiary of AVCO Embassy Films. The last scenes of the production are being filmed on the Missouri end of the bridge. Actors appearing in the film include Ernest Borgnine, Kurt Russell, Isaac Hayes, Adrienne Barbeau and Donald Pleasence who portrays the President of the United States. The wall at left is the goal of the characters in their fleeting escape.
