Updated Links Section, More info on Escape From New Jersey

Updated Links Section! Check it out! It's sad to see so many sites down.

And here's more info from Chris R. Notarile on the Escape From New Jersey fan film: "
As for what's going on, we plan to film next month hopefully. we're going to try and just make a cool series that lives in between New York and LA. as for surprises, um, it will be filled with everything you love about snake and we might bring in a few familiar faces from the mythos. hopefully we will get some more cash for this to keep it going, but right now, we're just focusing on the first part and if all goes well, we will keep it up."

Escape From New Jersey

Chris R. Notarile (Blinky Production's Escape Big Trouble in New Jersey) is currently working on a new EFNY fan flick! And none other than Hector De La Rosa (Warhero) will star as our beloved antihero. A wonderful choice. I can't help to feel a bit jealous though. Have a blast Hector! This is what he says about it: "I am extremely exited to announce the upcoming short film series Escape from New Jersey. I am also thrilled and honored that I will be playing Snake Plissken! The story takes place directly after the events in the Big Apple. These new adventures will follow Snake into the Garden State where he will of course find more trouble. The film maker Chris R. Notarile of
Blinky Productions promises not to disappoint true Snake fans. We are working together ironing out every detail, so that the look and the feel of this epic series stays true to EFNY! Stay tuned!!" Sounds promising.

Then we have a 32 minute fan audio production of EFNY from BrokenSea
.com. So far only one episode has been released, but according to them, more will follow. It's a well made production worth listening to. Visit the website or go to my: Multimedia - Music/Sounds page to check it out.

I also got an e-mail from Chris Ekers. He told me a place to find
Alpinestar Super Victory Boots. They are very similar to the ones Snake has. Check out my: Items - Clothes page for more info. Thanks Chris for the info.

Then we have the usual pics. I have also made some changes in my: Multimedia - Art page. Now I'm only interested in Snake art only featuring Snake. I am tired of seeing Snake as a cat, dog, kangaroo, fox etc. I still have a small section of art based on Snake I can't find on deviantART for those who have this fetishism.

Also, don't forget to check out: The Ward: Before The Cameras Roll over at theofficialjohncarpenter.com. It's a blast seeing John doing features again. We have missed you.

Fan movie, EFNY talkback radio show, imcdb, postponed EFLA Blue-Ray, pics

A fan movie called Escape From New York (in 2 minutes) was found. It's a jolly silly, silly spoof of the EFNY remake.

Then there is a lengthy talk about EFNY on Talkback Radio Show. I don't usually post these things, but this is a fun talk worth hearing to. They talk about what makes this movie so great and about movies today and the past etc. They say a lot of good and true stuff. We're worth better movies today.

There's some more fun escape related videos on YouTube etc. But they must fulfill the following criteria to match my movies page: They must indicate that Snake Plissken is in it, and he must wear an eye patch etc. Fake trailers, reviews, fan music videos (on YouTube. They come and they disappear) and such are also not accepted.

And here's something for all you car fanatics out there. Now there's also a imcdb (The Internet Movie Cars Database). What's next? Imsdb? (The Internet Movie Shoes Database) It wouldn't surprise me. Here's the pages: Escape From New York, Escape From L.A.

And there are currently no new release date in the states for the EFLA Blue-Ray release. In UK the release have been postponed to 29/04/2010. This is your God (money), Consume, Watch TV, Obey, Marry and Reproduce...

Then there's a couple of new pics.

Finally, big thanks to Joe Thornton, Invalid and Michael for your kind words. You make me happy.

Escape From L.A. Expanded Score, fixed link, interview, imfdb etc.

Yeah baby! I found the expanded EFLA score finally. Big thanks to the one who uploaded it. More music from John Carpenter can be found here for example. Go to my "Multimedia - Music/Sounds" Page and do yourself a favor and download it. Then I fixed the broken:
Fotog Ink Presents Rare Tracks From Escape From New York and Escape From L.A. link. I uploaded it myself on Rapidshare. Enjoy.

An interview with Kurt Russell about his thoughts on the EFNY remake called: Kurt Russell's Not Happy About the Planned "Escape from New York" Remake was also found.

And here's something for all you gun crazy people out there. Imfdb (
The Internet Movie Firearms Database) is an encyclopedia over weapons used in movies. Of course EFNY and EFLA are no exceptions: Escape From New York, Escape From L.A.

14/08-09:
The Adventures of Snake Plissken

Joe Thornton found the entire "The Adventures of Snake Plissken" comic book scanned on Titania Le Fay's "Call Me Snake" Journal Page.  Thank you both. I'm not a big fan of it. I think it's too far fetched, lacks depth and that Snake is a bit too big and has got too feminine hair. If you somehow have missed this one issue comic book, do yourself a favor and go ahead and check it out. Snake is in it, so it is cool either way.

Some more pics has also been posted.

23/07-09:
More videos etc

Four more videos has been added to my "Movies" page. First we have a seven minute EFNY TV special from Italy. It's mostly in Italian, but we get both John Carpenter and Ernest Borgnine in this fine little TV special. Then we have MGM's EFNY SE DVD Trailer and the superb documentary on John called: Fear is just the beginning... The Man and His Movies. I still recommend everyone to buy this documentary. Every John Carpenter fan should have a copy. I was a fool once linking to the entire film of EFNY on YouTube. Who wants to see EFNY on YouTube? It's just ridiculous. If you don't own a copy and are visiting me here, you really should do better things like getting yourself a copy. The last video is a short MTV clip of Kurt Russell talking about Snake and the EFNY remake. I love how Kurt ends the interview with saying: "Whatever."

17/07 - 09:
Article by me.

All those great quotes from Leca on Snake inspired me to write this article: Why Snake Plissken Causes Trouble And Why We Need Him. Don't forget to comment it here.

15/07 - 09:
Leca has more in store for us.

Leca Buchan (Pack of Rats) has posted more great quotes over at snakeplissken.net. I can't thank him enough. These quotes really show us what an unique character Snake Plissken really is. He also sent me a great article in glorious pdf: "Escape from New York," By Ed Naha, Future Life.

Thank you fellow Snake fan.

07/07 - 09:
Back with a Blast!

Three months without any updates. Shame on me. Well, I hope I can repair the damages. First of all, the EFNY remake seems to be on again.
Producer Neal Moritz is going to produce a remake of Cliffhanger and also a re-boot Escape From New York. The Budget is set to $80 million, and it will be made by Warner Bros, New Line and Studio Canal.

Bad huh? Great huh? I don't know. I'm so confused. I want to see my hero rise again, but at the same time I'm pretty sure they will screw this up.

What else, there's a bunch of new videos in my movies section. The interview with John Carpenter from the EFNY Director's Cut VHS for instance. Ash595 is also a gentleman, he put up  the Making of Escape From L.A. featurette on YouTube. Many thanks. A spoof trailer called Escape From Snake On A Plane and an EFNY TV trailer was also found.

Leca Buchan (Pack of Rats) found an old fanzine from 1982 called Outlands, featuring a Snake story called: "I Thought You Were Dead..." written by Marj Ihssen. A very fine story indeed. This fanzine has a copyright notice, but if you don't want this story here, you're weird. The story is available in my fan fiction section in pdf. Many thanks Leca.

Leca also posted some great quotes from John Carpenter and Kurt Russell etc about Snake from various interviews and articles in his topic: "The old stuff can be new to fans who've never seen it" on SnakePlissken.net
. I was planning to add more quotes on my press - quotes section myself, but he did the job for me. You found some really great quotes. Thank you again.

Also, check out this thing. A little late perhaps, but maybe it'll happen again. Great initiative though:
Free St. Louis ‘Escape From New York’ Screening With the Movie Geeks

And EFLA will be released on Blue-Ray in the US: 09/15 and in the UK: 09/14. No word yet on the features.

Then we have a lot of new pics. Neat art and stuff. A promo EFNY t-shirt was a cool find.

Y'all take care now.

09/04 - 09:
Found the Charlie Rose interviews again.

I found them on CharlieRose.com. Enjoy.

08/04 - 09:
New EFNY site! Updated Film Locations page.

Warhero (Hector De La Rosa) surprised me with a brand new EFNY page called
: Escape from New York's ultimate fan page. It's fantastic to see our affection for this movie series and character grow. I like it because it's a personal website, with personal insight and good information. The info on Snake's clothes and props is very unique.  It also has a part called Post Apocalyptic N.Y.C. which is really, really cool. Check it out!

Then I watched EFNY again with the Debra Hill and Joe Alves commentary and realized I had to make some small changes. So the Film Locations page is updated.

05/04 - 09:
I'm On Fire!

No rest. I managed to find the
EFNY SE DVD Interview with Michael Gillis again, then I found an article called: John Carpenter Tribute at the Aero Theater: "Escape from New York" & "Escape from LA. It's from the screenings of EFNY & EFLA in Aero Theater, Santa Monica, CA where John Carpenter also attended a while ago (oh I wish I could have attended too). Then I added part 2 of Gayle Bykowicz's Snake Plissken vs Solid Snake movie series. And then finally, a really cool EFNY Crew picture was found on ebay (you can buy it there if you'd like). You know where to find it.

05/04 - 09:
Spring cleaning.

I was sick and tired of broken links etc. Some pages and stuff needed some further work and updates so I decided to clean things up. I have re-linked all the articles, interviews, fan fiction, reviews etc from my own personal archive. Three or four documents are lost I'm afraid, I thought I had saved them. Oh well. I hope you appreciate my effort. Now everything should work as it's suppose to do.

03/04 - 09:
Updated DVD page, updated
Music/Sounds page

The Items - DVD page has been updated. It needed some corrections and additions. Then I found Daedalus EFNY remix again plus another EFNY remix done by Videogame Orchestra.

Enjoy!

02/04 - 09:
Pics, pics, pics, EFNY remake studio officially dead, updated Film Location Page, updated Movies Page etc.

Since February last year New Line Cinema is officially declared dead.
The studio will be falling in under Time Warner and will become part of Warner Brothers. That means no more properties and no more Snake Plissken. I think it's safe to say this project is dead. I'm both relieved and sad. Relieved to see it not being screwed up but also sad to experience yet another failed Snake project. He really deserves to be treated better. Maybe someone else will resurrect it in the future, who knows. Everything to keep Snake alive and kicking is fine with me.

Oh well, you'll always have me. I will not go anywhere, that's for sure. I've added a lot of new pics. That means more art, wannabes and other great finds. Now there are also some EFLA premiere pics in the "Behind the Scenes" page.

InsideNYMax over at SnakePlissken.net and Sabino86 from Skyscraper forum has some new info on where some of the locations from the deleted opening scenes was shot. InsideNYMax even found a picture of the location where Snake meets Bill Taylor (Ashby MARTA station on the West Line
#3). Then I posted some more pics from Erik Markarians first trip to St. Louis. I don't know why I forgot to post them.

Then I decided to update my Movies Page. It's hopeless. Clips are constantly disappearing so I have to keep an eye on it to keep it up to date. The Charlie Rose interviews is sadly not available anymore. I have added the documentary: Snake Plissken: Man of Honor. I have mentioned earlier it only contains parts of the EFNY SE DVD Documantary: Return to Escape From New York only featuring John Carpenter and Debra Hill. But I looked at it again and it appears to be expanded interviews with John and Debra with some stuff not featured in the US EFNY SE DVD.
Then there is some new trailers and stuff.

21/02 - 09:
Fan Art, Pics, Blue-Ray info, EFNY Board Game Review & EFNY Fan Commentaries, Lost EFNY Featurette?

I bring you a mixed bag this time. First I have added more fantastic Snake art. Then I decided to add some Blue-Ray info in my Items section. A review on the EFNY Board Game was also found. Read it here. According to John Carpenter it's complicated so I'll keep mine sealed. There is also some fan commentaries together with parts from EFNY on youtube if someone's interested. Many more pics has also been added, a great pic of the actual Mac-10 prop found in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas for instance. Snake Plissken Poker Chip Guard Cards, mugs, clocks and other "
über cool" pics are also added.

Then according to the French blog: Forgotten Silver,
Archives rares sur New York 1997  there is a lost EFNY featurette out there called: Inside John Carpenter's Escape. It includes: Movie scenes; John Carpenter Interview, Kurt Russell Interview, Production/Location shoots; Kurt Russell says "Violence belongs in film and on television." 09:03. Anyone else familiar with this. It sure sounds very exciting. Please post your comments on snakeplissken.net: Lost EFNY Featurette.
