21/02 - 08:
Fan Art, pics, Blue-Ray info, EFNY Board Game Review & EFNY Fan Commentaries.

I bring you a mixed bag this time. First I have added more great Snake art. Then I decided to add some Blue-Ray info on my "Items" section. A review on the EFNY Board Game was also found. Read it here. According to John Carpenter it's complicated so I'll keep mine sealed. There is also some fan commentaries together with parts from EFNY on youtube if someone's interested. Many more pics has also been added, a great pic of the actual Mac-10 prop found in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas for instance. Snake Plissken Poker Chip Guard Cards, mugs, clocks and other "
über" cool pics are also added.

24/11 - 08:
Fotog Ink Presents Rare Tracks From EFNY & L.A.! Earl Luckes presents a jolly fun EFNY game! Then we have some more pics (for example another deleted scene pic!) etc.

Christopher Chouinard (aka: Fotog Ink) (aka: Santa Claus) at From the Mind of Fotog Ink was very kind to report and post his Fotog Ink Presents Rare Tracks From EFNY & EFLA CD-R which features short interviews from the cast and crew of EFNY from an
Escape From New York Press Cassette from 1981 by Avco Embassy (never heard of actually) Pretty rare stuff. This is not all, it also contains rare various EFNY/EFLA themes etc from rare vinyl's and stuff. I can't thank him enough, this is pure gold. But wait, there is more. Somewhere he has a more complete EFLA score laying around and he also posted John Carpenter's score for the game Sentinel Returns on his blog! He also has the EFLA popcorn tub, I've been looking for pics of that for ages. Let's all sheer for Christopher!!! Check these goodies out in my "Multimedia - Music/Sounds" page.

Another great guy is Earl Luckes (aka: Wyngarde). He was the bass player in The Nick Atoms who did a great grungy take on the EFNY theme (You can download the song on this site). Now he has a wonderful silly game in old Super Mario Brothers style for us. You collect hartford summit tapes and saves Presidents. Fantastic. Check it out in my "Multimedia - Games" page.

Then I found an interesting pic from the deleted "Snake almost garroted by an Indian" scene now featuring a struggling Snake. By the way, I have arranged all the deleted or possible deleted scenes in order of continuity in the "
Multimedia - Deleted Scenes & Alternate Versions" page. I still want to know more about these scenes. Please e-mail if you have any further info.

Another interesting pic is in this neat Kurt Russell montage on YouTube by Waveygirl. Check out the pic at 2:24.

Then we have more pics. A lot of new great art for example. Don't miss it.

EFNY has also been released on Blu-Ray in Germany. I don't know anything about the quality, I'm just saying. I still think Blu-Ray is a scam by greedy film companies. I'm sure the quality is better and everything but it feels so
unnecessary (ugly cases too). I'm gonna try my best to stay away from it, maybe I'll get hooked too? Who knows? They sure do Live if you catch my drift. Thank God the glasses still is on.

As said before, if you have interesting EFNY/EFLA/Snake stuff etc. Please bring them out from the closet and send me an email. Then I want you to tell me if there's any broken links or something so I can fix them or link and upload stuff from my own personal archive. Please do that. Then I want to thank all the people who signs my guestbook. Appreciated!

Enjoy and have a great time.

21/08 - 08:
EXCLUSIVE TONE RODRIGUEZ INTERVIEW! "Russell Muscle" is coming back!, more art, updated "Film Locations" page, "Escape From New Orleans" fan fiction, avoid UK EFNY Blue-Ray release.

Tone Rodriguez, artist of Snake Plissken Chronicles  I Heard You Were Dead: Snake Plissken fan site

I hope I can shed some light after the tragic loss of Isaac Hayes:

Kim August author of "Russell Muscle" (closed after a computer crash, resulting in loss of many of the features), I Know I'm Human, Pharr Out! Online and gunsmudblood.net: Genre Cinema & Noise fan site  is back with a new page called: I Heard You Were Dead: Snake Plissken fan site. It's great to see you're coming back. She has a great interview with Kim Gottlieb-Walker (Still Photographer of EFNY) etc. Don't miss it.

Thanks to her we were able to contact Tone Rodriguez (artist of Snake Plissken Chronicles) and conduct an interview with him. We also sent William O'Neill (writer of Snake Plissken Chronicles) questions but so far Tone Rodriguez is the only one who have answered. I want to personally thank Tone Rodriguez for his time and for this great and personal interview. This should clear out what really happened to this wonderful but short lived comic book and many other stuff. Read it here or find it in my Press page.

Another contributer is Ang Vee. He sent me some of his Snake Art. Thank you Ang. Check it out in the "Snake Art" page together with other new great art. Great stuff.

SD Bob has also provided me with info about where exactly the deleted Bank Robbery scene were filmed. Check it out in the "Film Locations" page in the "Multimedia" area. Thanks SD Bob.

Hector De La Rosa and Jared M. Place also have a really good fan fiction story for you called "Escape From New Orleans" Don't dare to miss it. You can comment it here.

And finally, avoid the recent UK EFNY Blu-Ray release. Apparently the picture quality is really bad. They say it looks like a standard def up conversion and is absolutely terrible. So there you have it.

11/08 - 08:
Issac Hayes dies at age 65

Issac Hayes as The Duke in Escape From New York

Sad news everyone. Isaac Hayes has passed away. You will always be fondly remembered.

CNN.com:

Singer Issac Hayes seen performing in the U.K. last year. Hayes was found dead Sunday at age 65.

Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m., the sheriff's department said. 06/07 - 08:
LOTS OF GOODIES FOR YOU!

Where to start? The Snake Escape 2008 is done. SD Bob, Bankok Rules,
CreedsGalBirdy and Erik Markarian attended. You can read about their journey and see location pictures in St. Louis here. Excellent work guys. Watching those sites really wanted me to be there too. It inspired me to do a "Film Locations" page. A lot of work went in to this so I hope you'll enjoy it. Feel free to send me more info or more pictures (or better ones). I appreciate all the help I can get.

Next, Will King (A Southerner) has got some very exciting news for you: "I've been working on rewriting the entire Escape from New York novel for quite some time now. I'm close to finishing it too. It's awesome! It has parts from the novel, shooting script, the movie and ideas of my own all added together. There are so much more into this novel. Like for an example, most of the action scenes in the novel; Broadway, Snake's fight with the Slag, the 69th Street Bridge, the Wall and so much more that was way too short. There wasn't much details nor action at all. So I rewrote the novel with adding more details and making the fights longer, having longer scenes, adding more scenes and so on. I think my novel has over three hundred pages so far.

It's more like a movie than a novel. What I mean by that is the writing focus more on the actions and the descriptions. I took most of the drama out. For example; Hauk's son Jerry. That drew the focus away from the story that was actually taking place. In chapter Red Alert, Hauk and the USPF were getting on the helicopters flying to rescue the President in his pod, half of the story talks about Hauk and his son Jerry. So I had taken it out and focused on the actions taken place; the soldiers, the pilots, Hauk, the helicopters. What they were doing and all that.

Chapters that I created are like this one for example; the hijack of Air Force One. A chapter written as it's taking place. I didn't like the idea of a woman doing the hijacking. I just couldn't take it seriously. So it's a man instead but there are several of them and there is a gun battle between the hijackers and the secret service agents.

I've always been curious to know what life was like outside the bank/subway stations/ New York city so I had written three more stories (not finished). One is Plissken in the war; The Siberian Campaign. The other two are on Plissken's return to the United States; being declared as an outlaw and writing what life was like out in the US and what he's doing besides robbing federal banks.

One of the stories was about Plissken going into a town that's half destroyed from the war to visit a friend who owns a bar. He gets himself in the middle of all kinds of trouble that's taking place."

The other was Plissken joining up in a independent militia who fights using guerilla warfare tactics against the federal oppressors (soldiers, USFP)."

You can read Will's three first chapters here, or find it in my "Press - Fan Fiction" page. I should also mention that Joe Thornton is a part of the process. There is also another new fiction story called "Aftershocks" By Melody Wilde for you to enjoy!

About the three chapters (Will King): "
Here' are the first three chapters. Now one thing you need to know. I wrote a lot of technologies/ machinery and computers. In the future, the US is very high tech and one of the main reasons for that isn't just because they're cheaper and more reliable but the government's objective is to elliminate as many jobs as possible except for the most important ones. So that would leave many people to join up the USPF. The government wants to create a government controlled military country who would serve and protect them. So with the persecution and the loss of jobs, the US erupts in a Civil War."

Two short new fan made movies was also found in YouTube: Escape From Halloween Faux Trailer and Escape From Philadelphia. Fan made stuff is always fun to see.

Then we have many more pics added.

Escape From New York Remake: Josh Brolin to be Snake?

Josh Brolin

June, 2008
Spielberg News a French website is reporting that Josh Brolin is in talks or he is in consideration to play Snake Plissken in a remake of Escape from New York. This is yet to be confirmed, so for now is a rumor.

Here is what the site says:
"A source close to the production (if so) has assured us that it is now Josh Brolin to be in the running to take over the role of Snake Plissken in the remake currently in draft New York 1997.”

Josh Brolin as Snake? Please discuss it over at: snakeplissken.net

06/05 - 08:
Pictures, updated "Deleted Scenes & Alternate Versions" Page, inquiry about EFNY VFX Notes

My art gallary reaches over 200 pics! Isn't that great. Keep on drawing, keep our hero alive!

Then I decided to add the novel info and the different scripts on my "Deleted Scenes & Alternate Versions" Page. I felt they belonged there if you want to explore more about what could have been or about alternate versions. There is also two new better pics of the deleted scenes sent in by Will King
(A Southerner). Thank you Will.

Then I want to find JohnCarpenterFanBoy who won the Escape From New York VFX Notes and Storyboards on ebay some time ago. I was outbid on this and I want to talk to you about sharing this interesting item with the rest of us fans. Please email me if you happen to read this.

Then we have some more pics.

21/03 - 08:
News from Kim Gottlieb-Walker (Still photographer of EFNY, www.Lenswoman.com) Updated "Deleted Scenes & Alternate Versions" Page

Kim has confirmed that Snake almost "Garrotted" by an Indian in the lobby of WTC was filmed and she was kind to send me an exclusive picture from that scene. She also have a virtual gallery over at www.secondlife.com with a lot of amazing photos and a great EFNY section with many unseen photos. Here's from an email from her:

"If you or any of the fans you are in contact with would like to see some never-before-seen stills from Escape (including Snake about to be garrotted by an Indian) go to www.secondlife.com and make a free avatar of yourself and visit my two story gallery in that metaverse. On the second floor is a gallery with photos from Escape from NY and Halloween. Once you've signed up and created your avatar, do an in-world search for Kim Gottlieb-Walker (or Kurt Russell, or Escape from New York) and you will find my gallery and a transport to it."

About her book "Behind the Curtain". Kim says:

"Progress is being made on the book... John sat down with me and gave me some commentary and has promised to write the intro for the book as well... and I've also recorded the commentary from Larry Franco (the co-producer and 1st AD) and Kelli, the unit publicist who worked on Escape. I have all of the black and white stills negatives from the movie (I don't know who has the original color... so many of the photos I've shot on John's films are gone because the studios or temporary production entities didn't really care to archive properly and much was lost in the various changes that occurred).

This project will take awhile... it is one of many that I am tackling... But I will certainly keep you posted as it gets closer to publication!"

More about the deleted scenes:

Will King (A Southerner) over at SnakePlissken.Net has confirmed that the Snake running out from the fight with slag scene was filmed. On the second disc on the EFNY SE DVD in the photos section you can see a camera filming this scene. He also mentioned another deleted scene from the TV version. Click here. I must know if there are more familiar with this TV version. Please email me or write in SnakePlissken.Net if you know something.

10/03 - 08:
New Deleted Scenes & Alternate Versions Page

A Southerner and Zombiehunter's discussions over at SnakePlissken.Net made me want to do this page:
Original TV version of Escape From New York
Escape From New York Photo Stills

I would really like to know more about this TV version and more about deleted scenes both from EFNY and EFLA. Please post your comments at Deleted Scenes over at SnakePlissken.Net if you know something interesting.

Other Updates:
I have updated my "Multimedia - Music/Sounds" Page. Just click and download. An EFNY remix by a swedish band called "Robert Johnson & The Punchdrunks" and a Commodore 64 EFNY Theme is new! Just email me if you have a remix or something interesting.

Now go on and sign my guestbook and tell me I'm a good boy.

26/01 - 08:
Some fan fiction some pics, Ken Nolan's script, YouTube

Time for the first update this year.

I have added two great fan fiction stories. "The Delta Escape" by Joe Thornton and "Unfinished "Novella" By Cheech. This is good stuff.

Ken Nolan's EFNY 09 Script/Draft can be downloaded at Megaupload.com (if you pay for an account).

Another Charlie Rose episode was also found. This time it's John Carpenter who talks about "Escape From L.A.". I have also decided that I won't link to more Snake Music Videos on YouTube. Sooner or later they will be removed. Too bad. Check this one out. So very beautiful. Snake is such a poetic character.

Then we have the pics. Mostly new fine Snake Art.
