Escape From New York on YouTube! (Removed by the user)

If you for some strange reason don't own EFNY on any format or haven't seen it, now here's your chance. I have linked to all parts on my "Multimedia - Movies" page. I also added the Return to Escape From New York Featurette. Go ahead and make your day.

Snake Summit 2008, pics

Great news Snake fans. There is gonna be a Snake Summit in St. Louis later next year and everyone is invited! Go ahead and visit the official Snake Summit 2008 Thread for more info over at SnakePlissken.Net. I hate living in Sweden sometimes. I'm gonna try my best to come but I can't guarantee anything.

Then we have some more pics.

Brett Ratner and Gerard Butler are off the EFNY remake, more pictures.

I should have posted this earlier but both Brett Ratner and Gerard Butler are off the EFNY Remake. Gerard due to "creative differences".
Jonathan Mostow is replaced to rewrite the script with an option to direct. Interesting. Jonathan Mostow worked with Kurt in Breakdown. By the way, I would appriciate if someone would email me when news like this happens. I try my best to keep you updated but sometimes I need help too.

I found a great site called flickr.com. They had a lot of Snake wannabee photos and I just had to steal them. I know I should have asked first so please email me if you feel violated. You can also email me if you belong to the unknown ones on the "Snake Wannabees" page and want your name written. I would also love if more people would send me stuff.

More pics are also added.

Director Brett Ratner relaces Len Wiseman on the EFNY remake, new music video etc

Yes IESB.net (read the article here) confirmes that Brett Ratner will replace Len Wiseman. Does that meen we are gonna see Snake team up with Jackie Chan? I don't care who makes it. It's the end result that counts. I just say best of luck Ratner. I just hope you don't screw up this too much.

The lovely and creative Titania Le Fay (author of the: Call Me Snake Journal Site) sended me a link to a new really cool music video she's done. You have to check this one out here.

Some new pics are also added.

A mix of updates

First of all Len Wiseman is confirmed to direct the EFNY remake. It's all up to him now. All I can say is best of luck.

The Alternate EFLA! from the closed site From 1997 to 2013 is back online. It's great to see it back. You can see it on SnakePlissken.net or visit my "Press - Movie Script" page. Thank you for putting it up again.

Here's something for ya. Erik Markarian have posted EFNY location pics from St. Louis on SnakePlissken.Net. You have to check these out!

I found a Kurt Russell interview with Charlie Rose on YouTube promoting Escape From L.A. Check it out here.

I have also shortened my "EFNY Novel" page. I am very grateful for my friend Joe Thornton's submissions but I felt it was a bit unnecessary when you can read the book yourself. I am thinking about scanning the book in the future but in the mean time there's still some interesting info on the page.

There is some more updates and stuff for you but I have better things to do then to list them all here. Find them yourselves.

Len Wiseman in talks to direct the EFNY remake, more Snake art, I Know I'm Human back online

Ain't It Cool News:
IESB reports that Len Wiseman is in talks to direct both GEARS OF WAR and the ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK remake for New Line. You can read the original IESB report HERE!

After bringing John McClane back to the screen why not also Snake Plissken. He seems to be a logic choice. That meens no more swearing Snake. I don't have any higher hopes about this remake. It's an impossible task, it's like to redo Mona Lisa. I can only hope it's gonna be ok. All we can do is to wait and see. Maybe I'll even be surprised. Who knows?

John Dunn emailed me a fantastic drawing he'd done. He also doesn't have any higher hopes about the remake and would rather see another Escape with Kurt Russell instead. This is what Snake would look like if they did. It's no question Kurt can still do it.

More fantastic art is also added. Some are just amazing.

Also, Kaz  is back online with a modified version of I Know I'm Human. It is now called The Meaning of MacReady and is still a bit in developement. It's great to see it's back again.

EFNY remake script review

I know this is pretty old news but Merrick over at Ain't That Cool News have reviewed Ken Nolan's EFNY remake script. I agree a lot with Merrick's thoughts but I would also like to know what you think and feel. Send your comments and opinions here.

Some more Snake art is also added. Keep on the great work.

My web host have caused a lot of troubles for me but now I'm back online. My old web address doesn't work anymore so please update your bookmarks with this better one: www.theefnylapage.com. Spread the word!

Pictures and more stuff has also been added. Enjoy.

Note from Titania Le Fay, more pics and send me comments on Snake

Titania Le Fay (author of "Call Me Snake" Journal Page, Snake Fan Fiction Timeline, From Enemies to Allies (Brazen and Snake fiction) and a shitload of Snake stories over at FanFiction.com) have sent me the correct links that seperates the fan fiction stories from the roleplaying ones. It was a bit confusing. I also got the permission to use her Snake drawings on her site. Enjoy them in the "Multimedia - Art" page together with other new great drawings. I've also added numbers after each section of pics so it will be easier to see who made the drawings. She also showed me her private Snake collection and I just had to steal some of them.  Thank you very much Titania.

As usual, I add stuff all the time and I don't feel like reporting everything I add so please feel free to  browse around from time to time.

I have also posted a new topic at "SnakePlissken.Net" called "Fan comments about Snake".
I would like to do a page with comments from fans what Snake mean to them. I want them to be pretty short (just some lines) and I want you to write your name, age and country afterward. That would be really nice.

And thank you Shane for sending me a big beautiful signed EFNY poster pic. I'm loving it.

Music Videos and EFNY remake news

Two new very cool music videos are added. One is from Gayle Bykowicz (Author of Snake Plissken vs Solid Snake). Thank you again Gayle for your work. The other one is from
HannibalLectorsmith. Check these babies out in the "Multimedia - Movies/Trailers/Music Videos" page.

IGN reports:
Exec producer John Carpenter, who directed the 1981 original, recently speculated that New Line Cinema's planned retelling of Escape From New York may be more of a prequel than a flat-out remake. Now the project's producer, Neal Moritz, has confirmed that approach.

In a brief interview in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Moritz says the new Escape will recount "how Snake became Snake," adding that the story -- to be scripted by Black Hawk Down's Ken Nolan -- will be "almost an origin story."

Interviews with John Carpenter and Kurt Russell is added on the "News - Escape From New York remake" page.

EFNY remake updates

Fangoria reports:
New Line has won the bidding war for the remake of John Carpenter's ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK that first hit the news earlier this week. In a package put together by the CAA agency, Gerard (300) Butler will take over the Snake Plissken role made famous by Kurt Russell, with Ken (BLACK HAWK DOWN) Nolan scripting the new take and Neal Moritz (currently in preproduction on Screen Gems' PROM NIGHT redux) producing. This ESCAPE, for which a director has yet to be signed, will combine the plot of the original film with an examination of Snake's origins; Carpenter is also on board as an executive producer, and tells the trade, "Snake is one of my fondest creations. Kurt Russell did an incredible job, and it would be fun to see someone else try." For the record, New Line once held the video rights to the first ESCAPE, currently available on DVD from MGM.

Stop the 'Escape From New York' remake Petitition

This remake seems to cause a lot of reactions. There is already a petition
here to stop the remake.

Comments & opinions on EFNY remake, New Snake VS Solid Snake Movie etc

I have posted a topic called "Thoughts about the EFNY remake" on SnakePlissken.Net's Forum. I want to know what your opinions are and what you think of it all. I have also added some links to other forum regarding this topic on my "News - Escape From New York Remake" page. Even a YouTube clip I found in SnakePlissken.Net's Forum called: "Escape from New York anti-remake." protest vid is added.

I also want to report that Gayle Bykowicz (author of Snake Vs Solid Snake) have made a movie she did on "The movies, The Movies Stunts & effects Expansion Pack" called "Snake Plissken Vs Solid Snake". I really recommend it. Thank you very much Gayle.

An interview with John Carpenter regarding the EFNY SE DVD made by Barnes & Nobles is also added. Located here: Press - Articles".

Escape From New York Remake!!!

Gerard Butler

Variety writes:
Hot off the socko bow of "300" this past weekend, star Gerard Butler is at the center of a package thay CAA began shopping Monday for a remake of John Carpenter's 1981 actioner "Escape From New York." Neal Moritz is attached to produce, with "Black Hawk Down" scribe Ken Nolan penning the screenplay.

Several studios are battling for the pic, mostly because the $70 million launch of "300" signaled the arrival of an emerging action star in Butler. A deal is expected to be made this week.

I'm both scared and excited. Remakes can be very good but also very bad (The Fog Remake atrocity for instance. I thought the Assault on Precinct 13 remake was pretty ok though). I'm not sure they can capture that special feeling EFNY has and I'm not that excited about Gerard Butler as Snake either. It's a very hard task to leave this character over to another actor. Snake Plissken is so very associated with Kurt Russell. I'm very opened minded about bringing new ideas and styles to something but beeing a hardcore fan I'm very skeptical. Maybe I'm just a bit angry I don't get to make it.
It would be great to see Snake become a bigger household name and introduce him to a new generation though. Snake deserves attention and with all the cancelled products maybe it's time to reinvent the franchise? It seems like the new generation don't watch older movies (a shame is what it is) but it's gonna be interesting to see how the makers will approach and fit in Snake and this universe in today's world and society.

There is a new "News - Escape From New York Remake" page where you can follow the status and progress of this project etc.

Several more EFNY screenshots are also added. Here is also a modified picture from Joe Thornton.

Time for an update

Hello there. Long time no see. Nothing much is happening on the Snake front right now but there are some more Snake related YouTube films for you to enjoy. One is called "Escape from Total Recall" and spoofs not only Escape From New York and Total Recall but also Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris! Check them out in the "Multimedia - Movies/Trailers/Music Videos" page.

There is also a new little fan fiction story called "Escape From South Park (NY)" for you. Imagine if Snake was a kid in South Park and you get the idea. Located here: "Press - Fan Fiction".

I also found some liner notes on the Escape From L.A. Score Soundtrack in
ShirleyWalker.filmmusic.com. Located here: "Press - Articles".

There is also a bunch of new pictures for you. But as always, you have to find them yourself.

I also want to encourage you to send me news and stuff if you find something interesting or if you have suggestions etc.

Thank you and goodbye.
