1: Denver Federal Reserve Depository/Atlanta Hummer Station/Colorado/San
Francisco Train Stations (Deleted Scene) (W1 Train Station, Dome/GWCC/Philips
Arena/CNN Center Station (Atlanta's MARTA system)
Description: Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center is a station in the
MARTA rail system. As the station name
suggests, the station provides service to the
Georgia Dome, the
Georgia World Congress Center,
Philips Arena, and the
CNN Center. Access is also provided to the
Omni and
Glenn hotels,
Centennial Olympic Park, the
Georgia Aquarium,
Centennial Tower, and the new
World of Coca-Cola at
Pemberton Place. When the station first opened
in 1979, it was called Omni station due to its proximity to the now-demolished
Omni Coliseum.
Comment (SD Bob): "The train sequence was shot on Atlanta's MARTA system,
basically right after MARTA completed it and before the public started using it.
It was shot entirely at the W1 train station, Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center
Station."

Liberty Island Security Control (Exteriors) (Sepulveda
Dam Flood Control Basin,
San Fernando Valley, CA)
Description:
Located in Los Angeles, California,
the Sepulveda Dam is a project of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, built in
1941 to control winter flood waters along the Los Angeles River.
Due to its neomodern look and proximity to Hollywood, California and Burbank,
the dam is a popular filming location for movies, television and advertisements.
Not far from the dam, the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Area has been set aside by
The City of Los Angeles to protect native plants and animals. Over 200 species
of birds have been recorded in the basin.
Comment (Bankok Rules): "Joe Alves had the
fake bunker buildings and faux exhaust ports arranged on the flat concrete deck
and hung the huge flag from the bridge. When Snake drops over "Station 19" and
Cronenberg zaps and kills the neck charges, that is also shot along the dam
walls."

Snake enter glider/WTC Roof Top/Chock
full o' Nuts (Exteriors and Interiors) (Indian Dunes,
Los Angeles, CA)
Comment (Bankok Rules): "The "Chock
full o' Nuts" exterior and
interior, was a set built at a site now closed called "Indian Dunes" in the
Newhall/Saugus area North of L.A. off the 5 fwy. Originally used for motorcycle
dirt biking, many film crews used Indian Dunes. It had a runway, used when Snake
enters his glider. If you watch the 1980 film "The Stunt Man" with Peter
O'Toole, the same runway shot from the same angle a year before can be seen in
the "wing walking" scene during the daylight: desert hills and all. The World
Trade Ctr. roof was also constructed there. The 1983 "Twilight Zone" tragedy
occurred there and soon the place was closed. When Snake jumps onto the wall and
his radio breaks: that's at Indian dunes outside the facade of the CFON set."

Deserted Floors of the WTC
Comment (Bankok Rules): "The "deserted floors" of the WTC were shot in a
raggedy office building across the street from the Wiltern on the S.W. corner of
Whilshire and Western. The building has been in a state of disrepair until last
year when I saw renovations."

Description: Has no Chock Full O' Nuts. The building across the pod crash site has been
demolished.
Comment (Erik Markarian): "Where the pod
actually crashed, in the movie it is an extension to an existing building to
make it look like a hole was made in the wall. It would be where the wooden
fence partition is in my
pictures. Nowadays from what I could see, that section is actually the front
of a tenement-type of building and the fenced-off portion in my pictures is a
child's play area with a few toys and things in there."

Description:
"No longer need residents of St.
Louis look beyond their own city for the finest entertainment." This statement
was coined by the William Fox Circuit of Theatres in 1929 for the opening of
their newest, most exotic temple of amusement, and it still holds true!

October 1931 and is an excellent example of Art Deco. The Wiltern is used for a
large variety of events including: rock/pop concerts, dance performances, award
shows, television tapings, stage productions, and corporate events.
Comment (Bankok

interiors of the "Radio City Music Hall" were shot at the Wiltern Theatre in

The New
Masonic
Temple was dedicated October 26, 1926. It contains over six million cubic feet
of space, is 185 feet high, equivalent to a fourteen story building housing a
ground floor and 6 1/2 upper floors. Today it sits directly across the street
from Saint Louis University and is a prominent feature on Lindell Boulevard
right next to the Scottish Rite building.
This is a handcrafted structure filled with art treasures including historic
stained glass windows, ornamental marble components and furniture much of which
was hand crafted by Master Craftsmen.

17: Grand City Central (The Old St. Louis Union Station Train Station, St.
Louis, MO)
Comment (Erik Markrian): "The location of the train where Snake is captured is behind Union Station. That
whole area is now a parking lot. The overhead structure of the train shed is
still there and covers about half of the lot, as well as the mall that is now
attached to Union Station. It's hard to say for certain exactly where the train
itself was actually parked, since we don't know how much new construction was
added and may have overlapped. Anyways I'm presuming it would have been on the
left hand side if you were facing out of the mall. There is actually a single
restored train car parked over on the right side but it looks like it's just
there as a sort of historical type attraction. There is also a fountain-type
thing and a Hard Rock Cafe over there too."

Station, a National Historic Landmark, is a former passenger train terminal in
St. Louis, Missouri. Once
the world's largest and busiest train station, it was converted in the early
1980s into a luxury hotel, shopping center, and entertainment
complex. Today, it is one of the city's major tourist attractions.
Comment (Bankok Rules): "The area where the Duke is taking pot shots at the president with Snake's MAC as
Brain and Maggie walk up is: The Midway between Union Station and the Hyatt. Now
enclosed and made into a shopping arcade. However very recognizable."

21: Maggie Hit by Duke's Car
Description: John Carpenter felt this shot was missing so he and Adrienne Barbeau (who
were married at the time) arranged and shot this footage in their old garage.
Unknown Locations:
Comment (Erik Markarian): "There are still TWO locations that remain a mystery: where Cabbie parked his cab
on the street (it's NOT the reverse side of the Library shot, there is actually
no street there), and the other is where Snake and company are driving down
Broadway. If you watch closely you'll see that they are just driving past the
same group of buildings over and over again. We know that Carpenter probably
would have stuck close to St. Charles and Locust streets, so we drove around and
also went on foot but could not find either of these locations. It's possible
that the buildings have been demolished since the time of the original filming.
Or the shots may have been done further away from where we were looking. In any
case there are still secrets that need to be revealed!"
