In quite possibly one
of the dumbest remakes on the block, things have taken a turn for the
worst - or maybe better depending how you look at it. Before they shot
a frame of film, Gerard Butler escaped Escape From New York,
the remake of the John Carpenter film, according to Variety. Right
after his turn as the Spartan in "300," Butler made a deal to play
Snake Plissken in a film bought at auction by New Line. He left for
creative differences. New Line is persevering: studio has brought
Jonathan Mostow in to rewrite, with an option to direct. Thank God...
no Brett Ratner AND they're re-writing the script. From what we heard
the last draft was identical to the original, making it completely
useless. Good riddance to this crap.
